The best way to find out if your Doctor is In-Network is simply to call their office and ask, "Are you under contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield^®?" Most likely they are. The Network is the largest in the state. There are over 18,000 health care professionals and 100 hospitals that participate.

Second:
You do not need any referrals.

Third:
Stay In-Network if you can. Your policy will pay more. If you go Out-of-Network, benefits and payments will be reduced.

Fourth:
If it's a true emergency, don't worry. Regardless of where you are or who you see, you will be considered In-Network.

And finally, remember this:
Your coverage is good anywhere – In State or Out-of-State. There are In-Network providers everywhere and they can be located by calling the 800 number on your card. Use them. You'll save a lot of money.
